These shoes are currently tied up in a lawsuit. Well, not really *these* shoes as what’s on this chick’s feet (also, I disagree with that nail color, I feel like I’ve said that before recently). They are by Alexander McQueen, who is suing Steve Madden for ripping them off - something the latter does regularly (and gets sued for, regularly now, it seems).

I suppose you can treat it like a math equation and over N iterations, where N is the number of times you rip someone off, you can work out the long term profitability (or at least assumed/guessed).
S= chance that they will sue you
P = the profit you can make on sales of the shoe (overall)
C = cost of the lawsuit (legal fees)
F = the fine you have to pay if you lose (which you may also assume the other side’s legal fees in a worst case scenario)
If S * (C + F) < P, then fucking rip that shit off.
Granted, accurately estimating any of those figures is really where the issue gets tricky.
